The coming default crisis

I think I'm ready for the default crisis, as ready as is humanly possible. I moved chunks o' money over to ETFs which track the Canadian and Australian stock indices (EWC & EWA). I moved part of my daughter's college cash into the Canadian dollar. I'm not moving into any Euros, though. My plan is, if the shit hits the fan, to watch everyone panic, then over a several month period gradually rebalance the portfolio at what is hopefully the panic bottom, while watching the VIX carefully. If nothing happens, then I'll just gradually rebalance to normal configuration over several months...
