I'm in a majority Muslim
country for 9/11, savoring Pakistani and Arabic food yesterday and
today. I'm surrounded by Arabic and Iranian tourists (who come to
Malaysia for the shopping & beer, I am told). Many of the Arab women
are completely veiled... this creeps the hell out of me. This is the
most improbable of places to be on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, yet
here I am.
The other day, I took out my U.S. Passport and looked at the quotations contained within that the have for decoration, you know, the ideals that will still don't always live up to, those quotations... and I was seized by a desire to be home.
